A lion aquamanile, Hildesheim type, in the style of circa 1300 Standing lion, the mouth with a soldered-in spout, the skull with a hinged lid, curved handle with a cornuted animal head, beautifully drawn, diamond-shaped mane. Finely worked bronze casting. Height 20 cm, length 22 cm. Very good work from the period of historicism. Cf.
