The M1165 is an Expanded Capacity Command<br />

and Control/<strong>General</strong> Purpose <strong>HMMWV</strong>. It is<br />

a four-man vehicle which can be used for a<br />

variety of missions, from command and control<br />

to armed patrol, and is available with an<br />

optional Weapons Mount and Turret. It is also<br />

produced as a customized model for special<br />

operations.<br />

<strong>HMMWV</strong> is the world-standard family of light,<br />

tactical vehicles. It is a lightweight, highperformance,<br />

independent four-wheel drive,<br />

versatile and adaptable platform that currently<br />

supports more than 100 different systems.<br />

The M1165 provides superior protection for<br />

crew, weapons components, and ammunition.<br />

The armor is available in two kits: The “A” kit,<br />

which can be factory installed, and optional<br />

“B” kit, which when combined, provide<br />

gapless mine and ballistic protection. The<br />

additional armor and fragmentation kits are<br />

field installable and removable to provide<br />

flexibility for missions that do not require heavy<br />

protection. The vehicles are equipped with an<br />

A/C system to provide greater crew comfort.<br />
