Breeze, Allegiant add destinations from Akron-Canton Airport

GREEN – Travelers heading to Norfolk, Virginia, can now catch a direct flight from Akron-Canton Airport.

Airport officials announced low-cost airline Breeze Airways will offer seasonal direct flights to Norfolk International Airport Thursdays and Sundays from June 1 to Sept. 5.

For a limited time, $39 one-way tickets are being offered. Tickets must be purchased by Feb. 20 for travel by May 16.

“We are excited to announce nice, new service to Norfolk, ... a unique nonstop destination from Northeast Ohio,” said Ren Camacho, Akron-Canton Airport president and CEO. “We are thrilled to offer additional low fare options to our customers as Breeze Airways expands their nonstop network at CAK.”

In addition to the new nonstop flight to Norfolk, Breeze also is adding additional flights to Orlando International Airport this summer. The airline also offers flights from Akron-Canton Airport to Charleston, Las Vegas, Nashville, New Orleans, Orlando, Tampa and West Palm Beach, Florida.

Akron-Canton Airport welcomes first flight from Nashville

Akron-Canton Aiport also will welcome its first Allegiant flight from Nashville International Airport today. The airport will host a gate party to welcome travelers from Nashville.

The new flights to and from Nashville will operate three times a week.

“We are thrilled to offer travelers in Northeast Ohio a new nonstop option to one of our most popular vacation destinations,” Drew Wells, Allegiant’s senior vice president of revenue and planning, said in a prepared statement.

Allegiant is offering limited, one-way fares on the new routes for as low at $37. Flights must be purchased by Feb. 17 for travel by May 10.

"We know Northeast Ohio travelers love the Music City, and even more, they love affordable nonstop options from a convenient airport," Camacho said. "We are confident the combination of Nashville, Allegiant and CAK is sure to be a success.”

Allegiant also offers several flights from Akron-Canton to locations in Florida: Orlando, Punta Gorda/Fort Myers, Tampa Bay, Sanford and Fort Lauderdale area.
