How to Fix the Recoil Pull Cord on a Honda GX160 Engine

Fixing the pull cord on a Honda GX160 Engine is a relatively simple process that can be completed with a few basic tools. Here is a step by step guide to help you through the process.

What You'll Need

10mm Socket/Ratchet

Screw Driver

Step 1

Take your socket and loosen the three screws keeping the recoil cover in place.

Step 2

Determine if the recoil cord is jammed or needs to be retied.

If the cord needs to be retied make a new knot to keep it in place.

If the cord is jammed unscrew located in the center and unjam the chord.

Step 3

Finally place the cover back on the engine and fasten it back in place.

You have now successfully fixed the recoil cord on your Honda GX160 Engine.
