Today’s review is for the entire NYC Ballet Collection, from OPI (preview here). This collection includes five new addition to the Soft Shades Collection and one sparkly glitter. I was excited for this collection to be released, based on the ballet promo pictures and colors of the bottle. I thought the Femme De Cirque Collection (Soft Shades, 2011) were adorable and hoped this collection would be similar.

I have to say me and OPI Soft Shades don’t mix! All of the polishes are sheer. Forgive me if you like sheer polish, but personally, I don’t. I’m not sure why anyone would wear a sheer, unless you are doing a french manicure. Other than that, I would prefer to wear a clear topcoat, or clear nail treatment.

On a positive note, each polish was smooth and easy to apply. For the photos below, I used three coats. If you have the time and patience, I’m sure you could apply enough layers until the polish becomes opaque. I’m too impatient for that. However, I really liked the glitter topcoat, Pirouette My Whistle. It was easy to apply and can give your nails that *extra* something special!

I just sat down to type my review for each color. To be honest, I couldn’t type a single line. This is going to be a different sort of review. I’m not going to write anything because there is nothing to say. I will let the photos do all the talking. You can decide which you like best!

I mean no offense to OPI. I just don’t like sheer polish in general. Again, I apologize for the lack of words. I really can’t describe sheers, other than.. blah.
