Truly They Were An Aqua Teen Hunger Force

After 13 seasons, Aqua Teen Hunger Force is going off the air. And I don’t know how I’m going to live without it.

Every season gave me something delightfully weird to blurt out, ways to fill awkward silence or interrupt uninteresting conversation. And to this day, every time I’m in the bathroom I yell to myself, “haunted hairdryer!” I’m addicted to ATHF, and I’m not ready to quit cold turkey.

So if you’re a superfan like me — and I know you are or you wouldn’t be reading this — I hope mourning the loss of the show can be eased just a little with some oral history of how the show came to be the flagship series of Adult Swim.

It’s told by Dave Willis (ATHF co-creator and the voice of Carl and Meatwad), Matt Maiellaro (ATHF co-creator and the voice of Err), Dana Snyder (the voice of Master Shake) and Carey Means (the voice of Frylock). My sincere thanks to all of them for taking the time to share their stories with me. And in the words of Carl, the wisest neighbor you’ll never live next door to, “This don’t matter…none of this matters.”
