Bolm, South 94 West 14040 Groveway Lane, Hales Corner, Wis. 53130 Filed Dec. 5, 1966, Ser. No. 599,112 Int. Cl. A63g 31/02 US. Cl. 272.1 3 Claims ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A bar novelty for affording amusement in drinking, comprising a rifle configurated member supporting a centrally pivoted lever which has a whiskey glass secured to one end thereof, the opposite end of the lever having a manually operated handle for purpose of pivoting upwardly the whiskey glass toward a persons mouth.
This invention relates generally to novelty amusement devices. More specifically it relates to novelty plastic toy guns.
A principal object of the present invention is to provide a novelty plastic toy gun which serves as an amusement novelty for drinking a shot of liquor.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a novelty plastic toy gun having self-contained means for supporting a single shot of liquor.
Yet another object of the present invention is to provide a novelty plastic toy gun having self-contained means for delivering a shot of liquor to the lips of a person in an amusing manner so that the same may be drank.
Still another object of the present invention is to provide a novelty plastic toy gun which incorporates a whiskey glass supported at the end of a pivotable lever which is pivotably operated by a handle in the general vicinity of the trigger area of a conventional rifle.
Other objects of the present invention are to provide a novelty plastic toy gun which is simple in design, inexpensive to manufacture, rugged in construction, easy to use and eflicient in operation.
These and other objects will be readily evident upon a study of the following specification and the accompanying drawing wherein:
FIGURE 1 is a side elevation view of the present invention and showing in phantom lines an operative position thereof;
FIGURE 2 is a cross-sectional view taken on the line 2-2 of FIGURE 1.
Referring now to the drawing in detail, reference numeral represents a novelty plastic toy gun according to the present invention wherein there is a main body 11 made from plastic material that is designed to imitate wood, the main body member being configurated to represent a rifle and including a handle stock 12 and a barrel 13, as shown in FIGURE 1 of the drawing.
A vertical opening 14 is provided vertically through a mid-portion of the main body member 11 in the general vicinity of the area where a trigger is usually located in a conventional firearm. A pivotable lever 15 is fitted through the opening 14 the mid-portion of the lever having an integral cross-pin 16 which is pivotably journaled within a bearing 17 formed upon each side of the main body member, so that the lever may be pivotable respective to the main body member.
The main body member is provided with suflicient clearance so that the lever 15 extending through the open ing 14 is freely pivotable relative thereto, as is evident in FIGURE 2 of the drawing wherein clearance spaces 18 upon each side are indicated.
The lever 15 comprises an elongated member having a straight portion 19 at one end and upon the terminal end 3,450,403 Patented June 17, 1969 of which there is secured a whiskey glass 20. Adjacent the opposite end of the portion 19, there is an angle 21 adjacent which there is a straight portion 22 which extends through the opening 14 and which contains the crosspin 16. At the opposite end of the portion 22 of the lever, there is a loop 23 integrally formed.
In an initial position prior to operative use, the portion 19 of the lever extends parallel to the barrel 13 of the main body member with the glass 20 in a vertically upright position as is indicated by the solid lines of the drawing in FIGURE 1 while such time the loop 23 is adjacent the underside of the handle 12 in the general vicinity of where a trigger would be located.
In operative use a shot of liquor is poured into the glass 20 and a person then manipulates the lever by means of the loop 23 to pivot the lever upwardly as indicated by the phantom lines until the glass is delivered to the persons lip. The amusement of the present device comprises in delivering the liquor within the glass to the lips without spilling the same during the operation.
While various changes may be made in the detailed con struction it is understood that such changes will be within the spirit and scope of the present invention as is defined by the appended claims.
I claim:
1. In a novelty toy gun, the combination of a main body member in the form of a rifle with a forward end shaped as a barrel and a rearward end shaped as a stock, said body member having a slot therethrough intermediate its ends, elongated means extending through said slot, said elongated means having a whiskey glass mounted at one end and a handle at the other end, and means pivotally mounting said elongated means within said slot whereby a downward force on said handle away from said stock will move said whiskey glass in an arcuate path upwardly and rearwardly toward said stock.
2. The combination as set forth in claim 1 wherein said elongated means comprises a lever, said lever having a straight portion adjacent one end, said straight portion in an inoperative position extending parallel to said barrel, said straight portion of said lever having said whiskey glass secured thereto, said whiskey glass extending upright upon said lever when said straight portion is parallel with said barrel, an angular bend adjacent the opposite end of said straight portion of said lever, said angular bend being adjacent a second straight portion which extends angularly through said slot of said main body member when the first said straight portion is parallel with said barrel, the last said straight portion of said lever having pivot means within said opening of said main body member, and the terminal end of the said latter said straight portion extending adjacent the underside of said stock and terminating with an integrally formed loop comprising said handle.
3. The combination as set forth in claim 2 wherein said pivot means comprises a cross-pin secured to said lever, a bearing formed on each side of said opening of said main body member, and the ends of said cross-pin extending into said bearing openings to provide pivotable movement of said lever relative to said main body member.
