Real Madrid

Real Madrid2016/17 team has nothing to envy of previous sides

Real Madrid's current squad voted most complete in last 20 years

The votes are in and the message couldn't be clearer: Marca.com readers are convinced this is the best Real Madrid squad in 20 years, despite not having made any major signings.

The only slight adjustments from last year's campaign are Alvaro Morata and Marco Asensio making their returns, while Jese has left for PSG.

More than 8,500 readers and 28% of those who voted in total, agree with club president Florentino Perez in that this is a 'spectacular squad that is impossible to improve on'.

In second place is the 2002/03 squad, which ZinedineZidane was a part of as a player, picking up LaLiga, a UEFA Super Cup, and the Intercontinental Cup that year.

Finally, the third most chosen option that garnered 9.5 per cent of the vote was the team led by Carlo Ancelotti in 2013/14 which brought Los Blancos the much awaited 'Decima' (Champions League title).
