1985. A pivotal year for ABC.
The year that ABC would release their masterpiece, How to be a Millionaire album
Well, actually, it all started in 1984. Which is where our story begins.
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
‘pounds, dollars….p p p pounds dollars’
well, here is my all-time
favorite songs from them…
great social satire/commentary for
the times..(along with the ‘pet shop
boys – opportunities’ which was being
played around the same time)
it’s had quite a history…i’m sure
theres a story out there about what
happened with it….
but i first heard this song on the
radio way back in 1984 (the wall st mix)..
and i really liked it……it was only
being played on the ‘soul and funk’ stations,
not the pop ones…and i managed to tape
it off the radio, so i could listen to
over and over…
but i never did find it in the stores
until it was re-released in 1985 in the US..
and that was after ‘be near me’ was a big
hit…
