i rated this review 4 stars solely for our server Tommy. He was spot on. He noticed that even though our plates were still full of food from the salad bar and the buffet, that we were done. He was very attentive to our needs and provided the drinks (some including alcohol), and napkins, condiments, in a much faster time frame than I would have thought possible. Spot on Tommy.
The margarita and the blue drink was good but the "hurricane drink" made my wife's head hurt half way through. No idea how it was prepared or what but she is a fan of tequila sunrise and drinks of that nature.
Food was overcooked, seafood and chicken strips to be exact. shrimp (all three kinds we tried, overcooked). Salad blend looked and tasted like bagged lettuce mix. Greens wilted, rest of the lettuce was hard and crispy.
Did NOT try the crab legs, so I can't comment of them. Most people who review Capt'n Jacks do rave about the crab legs, but don't certify the buffet or the salad bar.
I will say, if you have a problem, do NOT wait until after you leave the restaurant!! DO NOT!! I don't know how you would know you had a problem until you sit down with a plate of food and try most of it and then what could They do, after you ate a sampling of everything you thought you wanted off of the buffet, and weren't happy with what you ate, so and now, they want to cook you new, fresh food that you didn't like the first time...hmmmmmm
4 stars so you know to ask for Tommy if you do go, and " " stars for the rest, including the talk with the Manager Chris. Good Luck.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Seaton M.Ironton, OH092Feb 29, 2024
Well. To start off, our server Michael was a fabulous guy. Very attentive, very present, never left our drinks empty, and overall was a swell guy. That is the reason I'm giving Captain Jack's 2 stars and not 1.
The food...for the price is frankly bad. Fogo de Chao, a very well known all you can eat steak restaurant is on average around $60 per person.
$60 for dry crab legs, worse than average fried seafood and not a very large selection either, 2001 cruise ship ambiance, and terrible dessert (aside from the key lime pie, it was alright. 3 stars.).
I very seldom have considered asking for my money back, but I did consider it.
To justify my loss it should have been $40 for the entire experience. I would have given it 3.5 stars at that point.
But! Michael is awesome. Keep rocking Michael!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Debbie M.Plano, TX189Apr 25, 2024
Literally worse food I've tasted. A whole buffet of tasteless old food. So sad. Cost for two $88,00 before tip

Make sure to get there early. Even 4:00 line out the door.
They sell drinks as you wait.
check all the price options for what you want
lots of food choices in the buffet and I paid for the unlimited crab legs which is why we can here and they were over done and sadly not that good, other food was good.
Desserts tasted like buffets desserts and nothing special. Kids love the ice cream machine.
They ran out of pepsi while we were there too at 4:00
When we left many many families waiting and whole party had to be there to be seated .
I do many many who love it hereHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 1 - Matthew C.Cleveland, TN527Mar 12, 2024
We were very disappointed in the options and quality of food for the price. The over steamed/boiled crab legs would bend, not crack, making a normally fun and satisfying task, a pain in my butt.

The service at this place was superb the food was good as well and had a nice selection. The only complaint is the price of everything I know you get what you pay for but $40 for just the buffet is kind of steep. Would only recommend to someone who plans on eating 5 or more plate fulls of food due to the high cost.

After seeing this place advertised everywhere my husband and I went her on our one vacation date night away from the kids and it was well worth it. A Buffett of piping hot food during prime meal time was amazing. There is a friendly guy serving the crab legs so no one cleaned out the Buffett was helpful so there was never any wait on the food. We got right in and we're seated also on a Saturday night.
It was a little costly but sea food is expensive and like most things, you get what you pay for. Because of the cost I was not able to bring my whole family, but if you can afford it, they would love it.
Clean atmosphere and super friendly wait staff.
Definitely recommend.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Cindy G.Honolulu, HI7635150Jul 28, 2023
Usually, when you see "unlimited crab leg buffet," the food is bland or of poor quality, but this is NOT the case here!!
Even on a very busy Friday night, the food was abundant, flavorful, and delicious. The crab legs themselves were freshly steamed and served individually by an employee.
Most of our group stayed home for BBQ, but we needed something within our diet restrictions. There were only 2 of us in our party, so we didn't wait long. The service with Julia was impeccable, clearing dishes and refills quickly.
At $59.95 per person was a tad bit expensive...it was so worth it!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 255306457Jul 6, 2023
My husband and I were here from out of town. He LOVES crab legs, and we had gotten juped by another buffet thinking that we were getting all-you-can-eat crab, but it was actually $9.99 a pound. Capt. Jack's actually has all- you- can- eat crab!! The price with the crab is $59.95, and without the crab, it is $39.95. My husband got the crab, and I didn't. I thought that the rest of the buffet food was not very good and not worth $40. I'm assuming they have that price because the buffet includes seafood, but it just wasn't that good to me. My husband, however, REALLY enjoyed the crab legs. He had two large plates, and left full and happy :) I believe our server was Damien, and he was great. The ambiance is casual, as it's a buffet. If you want the crab legs, I'd say absolutely come here, but if you're looking for a quality buffet, I would probably go somewhere else.
