Which Neck Tenon Would You Rather Have?

Below are photos of two different neck tenons.

Which neck tenon would you rather have in your guitar; the tenon in the first photo, or the tenon in the second photo?

The neck tenon in the first photo has some gaps between the parallel edges of the tenon & the body.

Yep, tenon 2 as well. My 2 tokais have slightly smaller tenons but both are air tight all round, no gaps at all. :wink:

Excuse my ignorance, what guitar is that, would that be called a "deep joint"...as deep as it gets?

A deep joint differs from a long tenon, although you can have a deep joint long tenon.......confused... The deep joint refers to the depth of the joint, not how far it goes into the pickup cavity and a long tenon well i think that one is completely obvious although some vary in length.
