In 2006 DuraCoat’s paint was banned in New York by then-mayor Michael Bloomberg for the paints use to “make dangerous guns look like toys”. Bloomberg eventually went so far as to pass a law stating that if anyone buys or sells a gun coloring kit in the state of New York they’d face up to a year in jail or pay a $1,000 fine.

In return, Lauer created a kit comprised of 5 different colors – one named after each of the five burroughs and created a barrel stencil of Bloomberg’s face (Google the bobblehead they made. It is hilarious).
