A large 20th century Meissen snowball blossom white glazed porcelain lidded vase, the baluster body with a ground of small white relief flowers and applied with spheres of snowball blossoms, tendrils and lifelike three-dimensional singing birds, blue crossed swords mark, some losses, height 60 cm.
After a design by Johann Johannes Kaendler c.1760. Kaendler designed the first snowball blossom vase flower vases as early as 1739. King Frederick the Great was one of the first enthusiastic collectors and ordered to six pieces in 1760.
