trying too hardAs I understand it the real meaning of 'rat look' was where people did not care about the appearence of the car, all of the money and modifications were on the engine ect. So you would have a 600bhp super car eating vehicle that looked like a p.o.s. What these fools are doing now is making their cars look like a p.o.s because they only care about the look, and the more fked up it looks the more 'rat' you are. No, you are just doing it wrong to be scene you fools.
doing it wrong
sort of where it originated from
If I can find a decent one I will link it, but there is some right rubbish to search through.

Like hasw been said, Rat Look needs to be subtle, nitro mors on a Polo bonnet one Saturday morning is not going to do it, that is just rust.
Not so easy for us, in california most older cars have faded paint due to the sun, dont polish it, leave it to mature and do some mods to lower it, perhaps some nicer wheels and it looks good.
I think unrestored classic can look good, have seen thirsties stuff at car shows, totally unrestored but well maintained, some with some bizarre period adaptations, like bath towels as seats, just kind of fifties make do and mend on a thirties car and it really works, there are thousands of highly prepared garage queens, the paint re-done to a higher standard than new which to me misses the point, I like seeing cars that look as they would at a few years old, they dont need to look new.
Cant condemn the young lads that want to do rat look to a Polo though, it is enthusiasm but they tend to go over the top, they dont do subtelty, sometimes less is more but it takes some maturity to realise that.

Yes thank you. That's the great thing about this country. We don't all have to conform & like the same thing. I don't know they bother, does anyone have one?
What do you have? It's new to me and not my thing, but after looking at some older cars, I think it does suit some models.
