Participating Libraries

Interested patrons can check out devices from participating NYPL branches. Please note: in order to successfully access the service, patrons must live in the coverage areas near these locations. Check in with a librarian at one of the participating branches below to confirm you fall in the coverage zone.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long can I keep the device?

The device and service can be borrowed for up to a 30-day period. The device can be renewed, based on availability.

How much will it cost?

It is absolutely free. There are no fees for checking out the device or using the Wi-Fi service.

Will there be technical support available?

Yes. There will be technical support available for the devices and service. More information about who to contact for help is included in the device set-up instructions.

Is there anything participants need to provide to the Library?

We ask that participants share feedback on the device performance with NYPL. This includes a survey to fill out upon setting up the device and a survey to complete on return. Participants are not required to complete the surveys to use the service or renew devices.
