Profile
Mathilde Roussel is a visual artist based in Paris. She graduated with an MFA from the École Nationale Supérieure d’Arts de Paris-Cergy (ENSAPC) and with an Art and Technology Research Post-Master Certificate from ArTeC Université Paris 8. Roussel is a PhD candidate in research and creation at Université Paris 8. She has been a visiting artist and guest critic at the University of Iowa, Watkins College of Art (Nashville) and Ecole Duperré (Paris).
With the artist Matthieu Raffard under the name Raffard-Roussel, she carries on research and create artworks reflecting on questions of art, ecology, and technology. Raffard-Roussel’s recent exhibitions include solo shows at Octave Cowbell (Metz), the Invisible Dog Art Center (Brooklyn), and Pioneer Works (Brooklyn) and group shows at Galerie des Filles du Calvaire (Paris), Museum of Brou (Bourg-en-Bresse, France), Villa Belleville (Paris), Salon de Montrouge (Paris), and Jeune Création at Galerie Thaddaeus Ropac (Paris).
