Prolimatech has introduced a new low-profile CPU cooler that looks like it can actually do some fairly decent cooling. They call it the Samuel 17, after a bible passage of all things -- an allusion to the battle between David and Goliath. While Prolimatech has some coolers that can play the role of Goliath, such as the Mega Shadow, they only have one real David in their line-up.
Sammy is 17x92x45x82mm, and weighs in at 410 grams -- which is pretty hefty for something with such a low profile. The cooler also has six 6mm copper heatpipes, and can use one 120mm fan.
The cooler can fit pretty much every Socket out right now: AMD AM2/AM3, and Intel LGA 775/1156/1366.
Samuel 17 probably would most appeal to people who like to build a very small gaming computer. Out on the market today their are also tons of fantastic little mATX cases -- not to mention awesome mATX motherboards -- and most mATX cases can't fit a normal size CPU cooler, so this is a nice product to see developed.
