BMW E36 LSD

BMW E36 LSD

Currently my E36 is open diffrential, but it is making some clunking sounds while shifting gears. Which lead to this post and quite a lot of research of what type and brand limited slip diff I would wanna install to it.

As it will be staying mostly a daily street car. I won´t be installing a clutch lsd as it will be needing more maintenance than a geared diff. My main two options are going to be Quife and another quite similar diff from Blackline.

Another thing at the same time to be changed is going to the differentials gearing. Most likely to Drift shops high ratio of 4.10. This will eat some of the top speed away but will bring more acceleration for street with out needing a lot more power.

I have one differential unit almost fully dismantled. Only few more bearing races to be pressed out and then we can start to order new rebuild kit with all the seals, sand blast casing and paint it. Also thinking of either designing or buying better rear case for it.

Will post updates of the progress with the differential build as soon as I get some parts for it.
