DETROIT - Downtown Detroit will soon have its first 5-star hotel. It will be located inside Michigan’s second tallest building, Hudson’s Detroit.
Bedrock Detroit just announced that the global luxury hotel brand, Edition, will open one of its largest hotels and residence developments in the world at Hudson’s Detroit. The Detroit Edition and the Residences at the Detroit Edition will together occupy all 45 floors of the tower at 1208 Woodward Avenue.
“Hudson’s Detroit is synonymous with excellence, style and grit, so it is only fitting that it will be home to legendary and iconic global brands,” said Dan Gilbert, Founder of Bedrock. “Edition’s eagerness to enter the Detroit market and introduce its first property in the Midwest, is a true testament of how magnetic our city is today. Hudson’s will be a catalyst for attracting visitors, residents and businesses to the city and we welcome them to enjoy all the amenities, entertainment, retail, hospitality and dining that Detroiters know and love.”
This announcement comes just two days after General Motors revealed it will make Hudson’s Detroit its new global headquarters and a week after construction crews installed the final structural steel beam 685.4 feet on top of Hudson’s Detroit.
The Detroit Edition plans to offer four different food and beverage options, a pool, a large outdoor terrace, a fitness center, spa and more than 16,000 square feet of event space.
The Residences at the Detroit Edition will have 97 condos for sale. They will all be located above the hotel with 360-degree views of the Detroit River and downtown Detroit. The Residences will have a private lobby for homes with one to four bedrooms with 10-foot ceilings.
There will also be residents-only indoor and outdoor amenities, as well as shared access to the hotel’s fitness center, outdoor terrace, pool and services like valet parking and housekeeping.
Douglas Elliman Development Marketing will handle the sales for The Residences at The Detroit Edition. A sales center will open soon at 1225 Woodard Avenue by appointment only.
Hudson’s Detroit is scheduled to be available for commercial tenant build out by 2025. The Residences and the Detroit Edition will have availabilities starting in 2027.
