It is hard to believe that almost 25 years ago I led the public relations efforts for Unison Industries’ (Jacksonville, FL) acquisition of the Autolite Aviation Spark Plug line from BF Goodrich. Additionally, I was blessed to be able to lead the marketing campaign to promote the line for General Aviation worldwide. Best of all, 25 years later, they are still using the artwork I led the creative team to create.

Those were fun times. I learned a ton from you guys. The Sun ‘n Fun and Oshkosh fly ins were incredible experiences. That is cool to hear so much of the marketing projects we all worked on are now collectibles.

The Autolite Annie stuff is collectible nowadays! I still have quite a bit of it in my office and hangar. I donated a lot of the old Slick and Autolite advertising stuff I had to the local Rockford IL business museum. Not sure if it will go on display, but it is preserved in the best place I could find. The Unison advertising and marketing footprint at airshows has never really been duplicated.
