Have you seen a "weeping wall"?
I recently published a piece of content about some materials in my garage. The one on the left, had a very wet SULPHATE "MgO" board, and on the right, Rescom's HMR offering.
Neither board was actually wet normally.
But, when the conditions are right, the board on the left expels water, causing it to become damp as the salts push moisture to the outside. It does eventually dry out again(if not covered by non vapour permeable render/paint; another story), but the cycle has continued over 6 years.
Giving you this "weeping wall" effect every so often when large temp/moisture variations within the atmosphere.
So what is Rescom?
Rescom, a non combustible Sorel Cement Board (Patented ISO8336/BS/EN 12467 Flat Sheet Fibre Cement Certifications)
It is:
- Impact proof(200mph Hurricane Compliant)
- Fireproof up to 1300°c for over 180min 16mm Single Board
- Soundproof up to 50 decibels
- Water resistant (that one is fairly obvious!)
- Can be used on floor, ceilings, interior/exterior walls. Yes FULL Fire compartmentation approved including shaft linings.
- Doesn't split under ballistic nail gun testing (when used 10mm from the board edge)
If you want to learn more about this solution, drop me a message or give me a call.
