Silverton, United States - June 16, 2013: On the footplate of locomotive No. 482 of the Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad at Silverton, Colorado, USA. The firebox doors are open, waiting for another shovelful of coal. No, 482 is one of the K-36 class Mikado 2-8-2 steam locomotives designed for the D&RGW (Denver & Rio Grande Western) and built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works in 1925. It hauls steam trains over the railroad which now operates as a tourist attraction carrying passengers over the 45 miles of 3 ft gauge track between Silverton and Durango.
