A fisheries group in the Republic of Ireland launched a new campaign this week to highlight what it describes as the "EU injustice that has cost Irish fishermen billions in lost revenue and many thousands of Irish jobs.
"This is the price of the European Union's Common Fisheries Policy (CFP) as applied to Ireland," said Fishing for Justice (FFJ), led by fishermen Tom Hassett and Donal O'Driscoll.
Ireland's Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ), which extends out to 200 miles off the Irish coast, has the richest fishing waters in the European Union (EU).
