  • Description

The unloved TVR? We don’t think so! Gorgeous lines, faired in lamps, power, low weight, this is the Griffith’s perfect recipe, just with TVR’s own engine with more power, control and quality than ever before. The bargain of the bunch? Certainly!

An absolutely wonderful Tamora, this could be one of the best driving T cars we have seen, owing to the brand-new dampers and having been set up by John at TVR Sussex and having had TVR history throughout its life. To say it whips around the bends would be an understatement.

It has also got the punch in the straights too, as it had a top end rebuild at the master’s - Dom at Powers to alleviate the well documented finger follower issues, so it has every pony Blackpool intended it to. In fact, I’d say it’s the fastest 3.6 I’ve had the pleasure of driving.

On the road it is everything you’d want it to be, a missile! One that handles like a fly changing its mind, raw, intoxicating, with all of the looks and charm of the classic lines from its predecessor, there simply isn’t anything not to like. Add to the fact that the Tamora is quite possibly one of the rarest production TVR’s of all time, with a mere 262 ever road registered in the U.K at their peak, now a paltry 132 remain taxed and MOT’d for the road, it is a rather rare beast! Which only adds to its allure.

This car has fabulous paintwork throughout, all bar a few stone chips commensurate with age on the front end and only one small crack on the bonnet brace. The interior being blessed with the optional Sagaris seats, with colour matched hardbacks (like 911 Turbo’s had) is a truly wonderful place to be and is also in great all-round condition, the comfortable seats hugging you in just the right way, so that you can press on without sliding around.

On the road these cars are seriously quick, pestering highly modified Nismo GTRs in the corners and thanks to their light weight, on the straights too!

With its short overhangs, short wheelbase, lightweight and stiffened chassis the T cars were every bit the driver’s car. The 343bhp from TVR’s own thumping Speed Six engine propels the T with alacrity, cornering speeds are just as impressive – none of the fabled handling woes to be seen here, just a quintessential small numbers British sports car, but without the standard parts bin interior, engine or switch gear. These really are a bespoke, handmade British supercar that not only look, sound and go brilliantly, but are from my book, hugely undervalued considering their rarity and competence.

Clicking gears through the tough as nails T5 box, staring at the custom binnacle and using the factory fitted pedal box with all alloy pedals, you know immediately that you’re in a special car, just wait until you’re on the open road!

  • Technical specification

With a fully documented history file, the car has had all of the normal niggles ironed out already, so an ideal prospect for turn key ownership. Low mileage, accompanied with the full new Bilstein set-up fitted in 2021, a top end rebuild in 2014, uprated starter motor. The car has had a clutch in 2010 and a lightened flywheel too in 2014, which really makes it super keen to rev! Again, an alloy radiator upgrade, silicone hoses and stainless coolant hoses too from ACT, this car is as well prepared as you could hope for.

A fully stamped service book and two keys accompany the history file too. The car had a 12k service at TVR Sussex at 38,126 miles, with the suspension refresh and two new tyres

All in all, a cracking car, in a simply incredible colour scheme that has been very well cared for and that wants for nothing, a rarity in the TVR world.  A brief list of the big jobs done:

    2010 – Clutch & Uprated starter motor

2014 – Powers top end rebuild

    2014 – Lightened flywheel

    2021 – Full suspension overhaul

    2021 – 12k service

Plus the alloy radiator and hose upgrades, the car simply has every box ticked you’d look for!

Why not get in touch to see just why these exact cars pulled on my heartstrings so well, that it has started a lifetime love of all things TVR, the best cars, the best people, the best club and the biggest grins, come and see for yourself, you won’t be disappointed!
