Next up, the photo-shoot. Okay, this is the part where we move away from the technical stuff for a minute and move on to the product photo-shoot followed by initial tests on heat, power consumption and noise levels.
We'll start off with the packaging and bundle, Gigabyte's bundle is sober... very sober. No added software or anything. You get the product and application software.
- One Radeon HD 5870 SOC
- Crossfire bridge x 1
- Manual
- Driver CD
- 4-pin Molex to 6-pin PEG power connector converters x 2
As you can see, here we have the Radeon HD 5870 SOC as supplied by Gigabyte. It has good looks, kind of serious and flamboyant with its massive cooler.
Nice dark blue PCB, cooling performance is really good, though a little noisy as our tests will later on show.
We've never seen these on a graphics cards before, NEC Proadlizers, also known as film capacitors, to provide current capacity up to 5000uF and extremely low ESL/ESR for super overclocking ability.
