As is customary with Arora, he chronicled this year's event in Nevada, US, on Instagram

Not only did the Paris-based fashion designer Manish Arora, known as the John Galliano of India, celebrate his birthday last week, but he had also successfully emerged from the Burning Man festival over the weekend. Arora is no stranger to Burning Man, having attended the annual festival at Black Rock City — a temporary city that comes alive in Nevada, US—for six consecutive years now. Burning Man, a counter-cultural phenomenon that occurs each year in the middle of the desert, is guided by 10 core principles, including radical inclusion, decommodification, immediacy, participation and leaving no trace. Tens of thousands of “burners” live together for about a week, participating in activities, contributing art, and at the end watching a giant wooden figure, or “The Man” burn to the ground.

And every year, without fail, Arora documents his journey at Burning Man by debuting a few avant-garde outfits on Instagram. Over the last three years, Arora has collaborated with San Francisco-based photographer Scott London to photograph attendees who they think have a cool sense of style. This year, like always, Manish Arora went all out with his avant-garde looks. In keeping with this year's theme—I, Robot—Arora sported a bright yellow lungi and pink platform sneakers.

Manish Arora also used his time at Burning Man to weigh in on the Supreme Court's reading down of Section 377 by sharing a picture of himself giving the archaic law the middle finger. We can't wait to see what Arora, who will be showing at Paris Fashion Week, has in store for us at Burning Man in 2019.
