Callistemon viminalis 'Captain Cook' is a dwarf, compact and hardy variety.
This is a medium, bushy shrub with long, narrow leaves that start pink and become darker green.
The slightly weeping branches have large bright scarlet, fluffy bottlebrush flowers up to 150mm long.
This is an excellent garden specimen due to its compact nature and excellent foliage when not in flower.
Although it prefers full sun it will grow in part shade however there will tend to be less flowers. This plant will tolerate coastal conditions so it an excellent native for coastal gardens.
Very effective as a single specimen and makes and excellent low hedge.
