Greg Martin is quite simply a Rugby Tragic. While he finished his serious rugby career in 1991, after 9 Tests for Australia, 2 World XV caps and 65 matches for his beloved Queensland Reds, he continued playing until late 1999 winning a premiership with QLD Uni 4th Grade and made a guest appearance for Dublin club side Clontarf in the lower grades.

Such is Greg’s love for the game that he managed to play for nearly 18 years for Queensland University, securing 3 x 1st Grade, 1 x 3rd Grade and 4 x 4th Grade premierships.

Add that passion to his unique turn of phrase and sense of humour and it’s simple to see why Greg has become one of the most respected and popular figures in Rugby media since beginning his commentary career with FOX SPORTS more than a decade ago.

Part of Triple M Brisbane’s top rating breakfast show “The Cage”, Greg’s quick wit and strong rugby brain makes him a favourite with FOX SPORTS rugby fans in Test and Super 14 commentary as well as his role as regular panellist on Inside Rugby every Thursday night at 8.30pm.

Greg keeps his hand in the game as grass roots level, coaching school and club sides when time permits as well as helping some of the more established stars when called on.

The perfect foil for Phil Kearns with the microphone, Greg makes up the best Rugby commentary team in Australia.
