ARTIFACT:
A wonderful, untouched example of the most lethal-looking of the World War I United States trench knives: the Model 1918 by Landers, Frary, & Clark. This example has never been cleaned, oiled or polished and just has a light film of age upon it. It would be hard to upgrade this example. Landers, Frary and Clark also made an assortment of other products such as household metal products and knives for the Boy Scouts. The knife is marked 1918 and has a looped, four finger grip and a "skull-crusher" at bottom.
VINTAGE:
Circa 1918.
SIZE:
Overall: approximately 12" in length and 4" in width; knife only: 11-1/8"; blade only: 11-1/8" by 1" (at widest point); scabbard only: 7-1/2".
MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION:
Blackened steel, blackened brass.
ATTACHMENT:
Two clips on scabbard.
