Full title quote (that didn't fit in its entirety): "I have no interest in being rich; I don't care. I actively don't want to be famous, but and yet I still find myself compelled to be an actor because I like telling stories, you know?" (source) This is one of the things that still makes me believe that, despite everything that has happened in the last weeks, he may still be the man that I thought he was underneath. Sheida, how about some gifs for the OP? Carry on! __________________

Sheida is the queen of gifs, basically, so it should be pretty!

I'm trying to decide if I should watch the last two eps tonight. I was so excited for the shows return, and then I was spoiled about the 6x01 ending, and I was so, so disapoined now I almost don't feel like watching

I haven't watched 6x01 yet and have manage to remain unspoiled, but oh my god, should I be worried? I'm...kind of scared now

Oh no, you didn't spoil anything at all, no worry!
Funny thing is, I ran into three different people on the street in the past two weeks wearing SoA t shirts. I struck up a conversation with one of them, and she told me 6x01 had an intense ending. That's basically all I know, but now I'm half way through the episode and I have to say...there have already been two or three moments on the show that made me sick to my stomach already. So...now I'm super terrified about how it'll all cap off at the end. |

If it wasn't a six seasons thing, I'd consider catching up...

I thought it was a very intriguing season opener. More so than any other SoA opener, at least to me. I know a lot of Jax/Tara fans probably aren't very happy, though, and I can understand why. But from a storytelling standpoint...I think the show needed to go there. When we were discussing last season in the previous Charlie thread, I expressed my frustration with Jax's character (and my disappointment that he appeared to be turning into a ''villian'' of sorts) and his empty promises to Tara and now...now it seems Tara is finally opening her eyes and realizing that Jax is never going to find a way out of the club because deep down he doesn't want out of the club.
I think it's in 6x02, where he says that he can't just walk away now because it would feel like what happened to Opie would all have been for nothing. But all I could think about that line of reasoning is what happened to Opie is the exact reason Jax should want to take his family far away from this toxic club. Opie lost everything to this club, to this so called ''brotherhood'', and what did the club ever really give him back in return? To me, that's all the more reason for Jax to want to escape this life with Tara and their family. Of course that wouldn't really make for exciting, gritty TV, so, that's never going to happen. What I feel Jax fails to see is that he's repeating a cycle, he's letting history repeat itself. He's turning into Clay and not even realizing it, and his fall will eventually burn Tara. And Tara is my favorite character and there was a point where I enjoyed their relationship, but...since last season, I've just found myself wanting her to get far, far away from Jax before this club takes anymore from Tara. Jax is an intriguing, interested, layered character that's totally engaging to watch, don't get me wrong. He's a great flawed character, absolutely, but I feel so protective of Tara and think she's just too good for him. She deserves a beautiful, healthy life and honestly I doubt Jax can ever give her that because he doesn't even seem to want that for himself, he's just so addicted to the chaos of the club. So, I don't know. My thoughts are probably all over the place. The first two episodes were very intense (fyi: don't eat dinner during the first episode, I made that mistake and there were several scenes that made me feel ill) and as frustrated as I am with some characters, I can appreciate it too because that just means I'm engaged. I hope you get a chance to watch them soon. I want to hear your thoughts on the Jax/Tara relationship and where it's going. |
