At 600m altitude, in the center of a vast natural section called from the highest antiquity «Absinthe valley», dominates a sacred land from prehistory to the present day. On this sandstone promontory stands the Cistercian abbey of Valsaintes in which monks lived from the 12th century until the French Revolution.
All around flourishes the garden in which, to the rhythm of the terraces, the visitor strolls among floral spaces rich in 550 varieties of roses associated with a spontaneous or introduced flora. He walks on "The Way of the Roses" chronological course of the history of the rose then towards a dry garden with its 350 species and varieties of plants adapted to drought and cold and an agroecological vegetable garden cultivated on the basis of permaculture. A small olive grove is conducive to a break.
Plant, mineral, fauna and man live in the harmony of a 100% natural gardening practice. The abbey church of the seventeenth, completely restored, can be visited at the bend of the garden.
