Rosie Huntington-Whiteley has long been a loyal blonde. Other than a blink-and-you'll-miss-it brunette moment back in the early 10s, she's been pretty much locked in to golden tresses.

Now, while she hasn't fully come over to the dark side yet, the latest post from her makeup brand Rose Inc shows the beauty embracing way more of her natural chestnut brown tone. The lightest and brightest blonde moments are fewer than ever before and centred on those face framing points, scattered through a caramel blondie (or brondie) take on brownie batter hair.

Though March may be a month away, we're already seeing optimistic spring reaching (please, winter be over). Brownie batter hair was one of the biggest brunette trends for autumn/winter, and this ever so gently sun-touched take could be exactly how the trend adapts for the new season.

The cool-leaning mix of pale honey, vanilla and light oak tones found in the tresses steer clear of the classically rich and warm 'ombre' styles of yester-year and create the swirling batter effect that looks good enough to eat.

The cooler hues also draw on Rosie's natural hair colour of soft ash brown, seen here on baby Rosie way back in 2006, aged around 17 (too cute). Which explains why these tones are so flattering on her.

Introducing more of your natural colour through your hair certainly minimises upkeep and damage, and chances are it's a pretty flattering shade for you, too.
