Keep BBC Radio London's Overnight Programmes
Keep BBC Radio London's Overnight Programmes
Why this petition matters
BBC Radio London is said to drop its overnight programmes since April. We want to make our voices heard and keep the local live show rather than taking Radio 5Live.
Jim Davis has been presenting the overnight show for over two years and he did a great job. It is always an enjoyment listening to him bringing local stories to the show and giving a platform for listeners to discuss and debate through the night. There is no reason why his show should be dropped, and it is unacceptable for those who have been loyal to BBC Radio London overnight in the past many years.
There is not a real local station based in London, for Londoners overnight - LBC went national and its topics are not always about London. Talkradio is not as lively as Radio London neither. Londoners deserve a proper overnight radio show to keep them accompanied, especially when many of those listeners during that time are hard-working, lovely people keeping the city running as usual.
London's stories are also bringing an impact to people across the country and all over the world as well. Due to time differences, there are certain amount of listeners who tuned in the overnight show listening outside London. These people also need the show to be kept to keep telling original stories from this beautiful city.
Please sign the petition and keep the overnight show on BBC Radio London. Londoners deserve this.
