Michael Thonet - Thonet - Chair - Nr. 4

This beautiful, stunning chair, chair no. 4, is featured in ‘The atlas of Furniture design’ from the Vitra Museum (see last images). This chair is one of the first models that Michael Thonet developed in his Vienna workshop, which he set up in the city’s Gumpendorf neighbourhood in 1849. This chair is even more special as it has armrests as well. A collector's item, historically valuable. More info can be found via last images. The chair is in a beautiful condition, also its webbing - which is even more refined than you usually see - is still in perfect shape. One piece of a wooden ring, just below its seat is missing. Can be restored or you can leave it as it is as the chair is very solid. The Thonet logo on the chair was in use between 1922 and 88, so the production period of the chair is not clear, but in my opinion it is pre war. Measurements: H total 92,5 cm H seat 47,5 cm Wide 57 cm Deep 51 cm As this is a valuable and funerable chair, shipment is based on door-to-door dedicated transport by a professional transport company. Costs are an indication. Exact quote can be given once the delivery address is known.
