- A: Answerthis is completely contingent on how the backup camera is wired. if its going to the reverse light only, you wont be able to use it outside of reverse. utilizing the 12v accessory will allow use outside of reverse.

Q: QuestionDoes this unit have built in GPS or just Apple CarPlay.(2 answers)
A: AnswerThe Pioneer DMH-W2770NEX does not have built-in mapping. It works with Apple CarPlay or Android Auto for navigation and mapping information. The DMH-W2770NEX provides the cell phone with GPS location data for navigation.Answered by Pioneer Electronics Team
- A: AnswerPlease be sure to take your vehicle for a drive of at least 30 minutes. It's normal operation for a newly installed Pioneer DMH-W2770NEX to need a, few minutes of "open sky" time to see and recognize satellites. This is a one time setup and the system should operate normally from that point. It's typical for the receiver to report 3 or more satellites after your first 30 minute drive. If you're not seeing any satellites, I recommend to contact the installer and explain the issue.

- A: AnswerThe Pioneer DMH-W2770NEX will work great in your 2012 Toyota Camry with the use of a proper dash installation kit and wiring kit. Removing the old in-dash receiver and dash panel will remove the buttons and knobs you're asking about. The new dash installation kit holds the new in-dash receiver in place and is designed to fit perfectly in your vehicle. It will cover the area where you see the "audio, seek, phone, app" buttons along with the volume and tuning knobs. No worries. It'll look great and work great. Your steering wheel controls for audio functions, will work great on the new receiver. This requires an adapter added into the installation.

- A: AnswerYes, you can connect the iPod Classic to the AUX input on the back of the DMH-W2770NEX.

- A: AnswerThe DMH-W2770NEX does not support an iPod Classic. It is only rated for the iPhones listed on page 63 of the owners manual. When you plug in an iPhone, it will treat it as an iPod and allow you to access the songs.

Spent $400, saved $40,000
I'd been lusting for a new car because I wanted apple carplay and a screen console, not because anything was wrong with my trusty 2013 Honda CRV. This has done the trick! Good sound, easy to use, and the installation Best Buy was seamless. Terrific product and service combined. Score!

Pioneer, wireless Bluetooth apply CarPlay
I own a 2015 Jeep wrangler and my factory radio was on the fritz. At the time when my Jeep was at the dealer I asked about either fixing or replacing the radio, the music started to kick out between the songs and it was frustrating to listen to music while driving I wasn’t able to enjoy a song in full. It was kicking out every few minutes. I thought my a loose connection or something, I wasn’t sure. They advised me there was to do to fix it and I would need a whole new one. They said it would cost around the 500 range. I declined because I can get an aftermarket radio for that price and have the features I wanted and needed. I went to my Best Buy location to purchase a radio. I was inquiring in 3 different ones, and I just didn’t know each difference between all 3 and all different brands and what I was looking for. I was unknowledgale about radios and the differences between each one. I asked an employee, and that employee really didn’t give me the information I needed to know so another one came to me and asked me if I needed some assistance. I said i don’t know the specifics and differences on each one. This employee knew a little bit more about them but not all the answers I was looking for but we compared the 3 radios I was looking at. They were either a kenwood, alpine and pioneer. I know and understand that at most it’s what a person really prefers meaning what brand etc. I said I was looking for Apple CarPlay which all had, I was told again personal preference, they were all similar in ways but I was told that the pioneer was wireless and Bluetooth, that was the most common or popular option I guess. The pioneer did have everything I wanted and I liked the explaination I received about how my phone would connect automatically. I went with the pioneer and the price was affordable and in my range. Again with very limited knowledge about all this, I did like and understood the free installation which was good. A thing I didn’t know or even aware of was and I know some will laugh if they read this or some will understand. I wasn’t aware that the extra components didn’t come with the radio and it wasn’t included. They were components that were needed to make all the features I wanted to work. No big deal, it’s understandable now that it was explained to me. So I was told the components needed were an antenna, maybe for my satellite radio, idk, a steering wheel connection so I can still be able to use the buttons behind my steering wheel which I wanted, an adapter because the one that was in there was factory and not compatible with the aftermarket radio and wouldn’t fit, good to know, a satellite radio tuner was needed so my satellite radio would be able to be used and function, a dash kit that fit my Jeep wrangler which I knew. That might be it as for connections and the components needed. I was excited about having a functional working radio, my factory one as I explained above about it kicking in and out one of the many issues, my uconnect which where are program your phone into so calls coming through I would answer, wasn’t connecting to my phone after many attempts at connecting, with no reading out loud my text messages incoming, and the aux cord hole, wasn’t working it, if I kit a bump or just at random times it was shut off and default to it not being connected, and you had to twist it sometimes for it to work. So yeah it this was a much needed purchase for me. I asked if the installation would be same day I was advised no which let me down, because I was looking forward to having a new radio. I understood, when we were setting up appt and seeing when my availability would work, I didn’t have many options to choose from due to my work schedule and they advised me the last installation was 7pm, which that week or month I was scheduled till 7pm. So that didn’t work with my availability. The soonest appt was like 2 Saturdays from my purchase and again kinda disappointed because I honestly couldn’t take the non functioning radio in my Jeep but I had no choice at this point. I was told everything was I stock as far as radio and components, there was one component though was not in stock and would be delivered there 2 days later from the date of my purchase and at this time. So I choose a Saturday at 11:30am, I’m off mostly weekends so that was good. I was told the time it would take which was hour and half to 2 hours. I was also promised that all the components and radio would be there for that day even the component that needed to be ordered. I paid in full that day for everything which wasn’t a bad price for me, it was in my range, on sale and the installation was free, but I was charged a fee for the install for the xmradio satellite tuner, I guess it’s an option for some people that don’t need it or don’t use or have a subscription. Again no problem it was affordable for me. That day I had my mom follow me for company and so I didn’t just have to sit there and wait 2 hours but if she didn’t want to come I was fine either way, I would have brought my AirPods and walked through the many plazas that are in that same area and to kill time I didn’t mind. I bought my gift cards that I received for my 40th birthday and my mom ended up coming and we went shopping, I did purchase some stuff I needed. I received a phone call and was told it was ready for pick up and it was finished in the time I was told, very happy. I get there and the employee or installer did go over with me some things about using the radio, settings, and the usb connection and cable that had to be installed through my glove box, so the wire sticks out a bit to connect my wire to it, I don’t mind it’s not in the way or I can put it in there when not in use, it was explained to me that phone would connect wirelessly if I didn’t have it plugged in and if my phone was plugged in with my wire to the usb it would also charge my phone when in use and if my phone wasn’t hooked up to usb my radio and the features would still work and connect. I mostly just plug it in to the usb anyway so it can charge. I was shown how the Apple CarPlay works tho I did know most things, I had a rental car months before and it had the Apple CarPlay in it. I was happy with my purchase and the lesson to go over the functionality of radio and how to use. The only thing that did concern me was when I received the email confirmation if things were in the way of the radio would have to be removed so nothing is in the way of install. So my Jeep wrangler on the dash in the middle I installed a phone holder that is durable, strong and moves around if needed. I paid $60 for it at the time. I didn’t remove it completely due to not remembering how to place it back in because I did it a while ago, i did turn it and moved it out of the way which I thought was a good thing. Going back to when I arrived I mentioned that I did move my phone holder over to the side so it wouldn’t be in the way. Well at first the installer the impression I got wasn’t the pleasantest, kinda rude but not really, idk how to explain but whatever some people are like that. So when I told him I moved the phone holder to the side so it wasn’t in the way, he says to me, “Well you do know I have to take the whole dash off and it may or might not be able to be in use or connected again or didn’t have a bolt or screw or something…” now at this point I was starting to feel angry because my friend that also has a Jeep Wrangler as well and a few months ago her factory radio did the same has mine and had a new radio installed with no issues and we both have the same phone holder and still was able to use it and it fix and functionable with no issues. So I explained that and then he didn’t say anything, and there was another guy there as well and said please don’t worry we will make it happen and it will still be connected and for use. I was relieved, and I knew it wasn’t going to be an issue. So anyway now I love driving, not that I didn’t before but was frustrated with the factory radio. Now I enjoy music without it kicking out and enjoyed a full song, I can now answer and make calls without using my phone, which we all know can’t hold a phone while driving at least in my state of CT. I like when receiving a text it says it out loud and I can respond by saying it out loud, even though seri kinda miss understands and sometimes it doesn’t make sense, I have the option to change it and repeat and asked to send or cancel. I use my xmradio and now I have the option as well to use my pandora, and also when using my gps, I use the wayz app vs the one that comes with the iPhone I like it better, it reroutes me if heavy traffic, and refers another option to go, alerts of police, contruction, car on side or road or highway, object in road, and I can as well place those alerts in when I see them so everyone knows. The only thing that I wish I can use because I have a lot of playlists with my favorite artists, songs is YouTube. The app doesn’t show up on screen, I also can use my Amazon Prime music app that comes up which is good too I just like my YouTube playlists. I went to do some research online, some things I read side it wasn’t compatible and unable to use and some said it can be if you download an app called car play and it will be compatible and work. I’m just hesitant about it because I don’t want to screw up my settings that I have them at, I’m worried if the app is functional and not a popular one, I just need to do some more research, and see if I can get anywhere and I can be shown, and reassured that it does work and YouTube can be used and compatible. Overall I’m happy with purchase, radio the components, the assistance and information that was given to me that I wasn’t aware of and everything is working properly went the whole process went smoothly. I have one photo I took, I wish I took a better one at the time at least with it turned on but didn’t I will but unsure if I can be able to edit or add it in.

2016 Camry - APple Car Play
It works flawlessly with Apple Car Play. Easy to use interface, great value for the money. Looks great in the 2016 Camry SE’s interior. I am absolutely satisfied with the product, including the volume, feature, and size. Installation by Best Buy technician was a breeze.
