ATLANTA — If you have Atlanta pride, you might have a bone to pick with a recent list by Niche.com that places the "A" as only the 36th best city to live in America.

Who is number 1? Apparently, that's Naperville, Illinois - Where's that?!?

In fact, you won't see any Georgia cities in the top 10 whatsoever.

  1. Naperville, IL
  2. The Woodlands, TX
  3. Cambridge, MA
  4. Arlington, VA
  5. Plano, TX
  6. Irvine, CA
  7. Columbia, MD
  8. Overland Park, KS
  9. Ann Arbor, MI
  10. Bellevue, WA

Now I know what you're thinking: Are those really cities? Are they booming metropolises with gleaming buildings that reach the heavens?

Niche's standards define a city as any area with a population of 100,000 or more.

It's also worth noting that Niche primarily offers rantings and reviews for schools. The website notes that its "Places to Live" rankings also factor in data such as population, home value, and crime to determine rankings.

Ok, so where do parts of metro Atlanta rank?

As mentioned above, Atlanta only ranks #36.

At number 14 on the list was Sandy Springs, and Athens showed up at 58 on the rankings.

Worth noting that Sandy Springs was the only Georgia city that received an A+ grade from the website.
