Some moderate damage was left behind Tuesday after what D.C. Fire & EMS called a "manhole explosion" in Northwest D.C.

Two manhole covers were blown off and concrete shifted after the explosion in the 4000 block of Brandywine Street Northwest.

D.C. Fire utilized dry chemical extinguishers to extinguish the fire. Nobody was injured.
