Tranquil weather pattern heading into the weekend

Overcast skies blanket the region on Friday as a weak wave of moisture passes well to our south. Clouds keep temperatures at seasonal levels for this time of year, right around the low 50s.

The forecast remains quiet this weekend as a strong dome of high pressure establishes itself across the northeast. This high pressure helps clear clouds out Friday night, allowing for clear skies to be present when Southern New Englanders wake up on Saturday.

A subtle shift in the wind direction on Saturday to a more northern-oriented flow sets the scene for a chilly start to Sunday morning.

Temperatures struggle a tad on Sunday, only managing the mid-40s for highs. Mainly sunny skies will help cancel out the chilly conditions slightly. The coldest part of this stretch of weather occurs Monday morning, as low temperatures drop into the low-mid 20s.
