Vodafone has just introduced world's cheapest handset -- VF 150 -- in the Indian market priced at mere Rs 799.

Featuring a black and white 1” display with 96x64 pixel resolutions, the phone packs 5-way navigation key, text and voice based services and control button. The phone promises battery back up of 5 hours and a standby time of 400 hours.

Other key specs include GSM 900/1800, alarm clock, polyphonic ringtones, calculator, torch light, mini USB connector and currency converter. The phone also comes with 2 embedded games.

Nokia recently expanded its low-end range in the country with the launch of Nokia 1280. The phone can store upto 500 contacts. It packs FM-radio with a standard 3.5 millimeter stereo headphone jack. The phone also has five separate phone books.

Among key features, Nokia 1280 packs FM radio, prepaid tracker, flashlight, anti-scratch cover and dust-resistant keymat. The phone will also support Nokia Life Tools.

The handset is priced at Rs 1,300.

Korean giant Samsung has added a low-cost handset -- Guru 1175 to its India line-up.

Featuring a curvy design with patterned battery cover, Guru has a bright torch which can work upto 38 hours. The phone has a bike mode feature which allows users to receive only those calls which are important while driving. Users can set important contacts list.

Other key specs include FM radio, advanced mobile tracker, 1MB memory and 1000 phonebook entries. The phone supports upto 12 hours talk time and 650 hours of standby time. The phone packs games like Carrom, Suduku, Super Jewel Quest and Cricket.

Samsung Guru 1175 is priced at Rs 1,690.

Another low-cost entry from Nokia's camp is 1616. Weighing mere 79 grams, Nokia 1616 sports a sleeker design and has a dust resistant keypad.

Measuring 1.8", the phone has TFT display. Other features include flashlight, FM radio, MP3 grade ringtones, a speakerphone and multiple phonebooks.

The phone's battery supports up to 8.5 hours talktime and 22 days standby time. Nokia 1616 is priced at Rs 1,600.
LG GU-220 and GU-285

LG GU-220 and GU-285

LG recently added two budget entertainment phones -- GU-220 and GU-285 -- to its India line-up. LG GU285 is a 2.2-inch touchscreen phone. It has 2 cameras -- a 1.3 megapixel at the back and a VGA camera on the front side for video calling.

The phone supports GPRS/EDGE and is 3G ready. Other features include expandable memory up to 8GB, music playback, FM Radio and ‘Try & Games’ which offer games like Sudoku, Ferrari GT and more. The phone is priced at Rs 6,000.

LG GU-220 too has same screen size as GU-285, however, the phone does not support 3G. The phone has FM radio with recording capabilities. LG GU-220 comes for Rs 4,500.

Karbonn Mobiles too boast of a budget-friendly line-up. The company recently added K445 and K550 priced at Rs 3,400 and Rs 3,800 respectively.

Sporting a 2-inch 65K TFT screen with 176 x 220 resolutions, K550 packs a 1.3 megapixel camera. The dual SIM K550 comes with 2MB internal memory which can be expanded upto 4GB. Other key features include 1000 phonebook entries, 1000 SMS records, 3.5mm ear jack, FM radio, Bluetooth and built-in data/fax Modem.

Karbonn K445 features a 2-inch touchscreen TFT display. The phone's key features include 1000 phonebook entries, 500 SMS entries, One Touch FM keys-Music Player, camera, voice recorder and Bluetooth. K445 has basic VGA camera.

The phone also has a Mobile tracker and an e-book reader. K445's battery supports 400 hrs of standby and 5.5 hrs of talktime.

Zen X 220 is priced at Rs 1,849 (approx).
