So we have a transfer rumour for you, but admittedly it’s not the most interesting. Deniss Rakels, who is already out on loan to a team Poland, could be switching to another team in Poland on loan. Riveting stuff.

The 25-year-old is currently at Lech Poznan, but has made just 11 appearances so far without scoring a goal. As a result, he may move to his former club KS Cracovia, who sit a little lower down the Ekstraklasa table but are likely to provide him with more game time. If all goes well, he could secure a two year contract with ‘Pasy’ (The Stripes) when his contract expires at Reading in the summer.

This rumour comes from Polish site Przeglad Sportowy, who we can’t say we have come across before so we have no idea if they’re reliable or not. It’s a deal that would certainly make sense though, with Rakels appearing to have no future in Berkshire and not much joy in Poznan.

Having scored 28 goals in 68 games for Cracovia before completing a move to Reading two years ago, it would seem a good fit for the Latvian international as he continues to get his career back on track following an ankle fracture sustained against MK Dons in August 2016. That was the last time he donned the blue and white hoops, having made a total of 17 appearances for the Royals, scoring three goals.
