Platynereis dumerilii
Platynereis dumerilii are considered living fossils as fossils of them have been found as far back as the Cambrian era (about 500 million years ago). They grow up to 6 cm. They inhabit hard, shallow ocean floors at no more than three meters depth.
They have two genders and their sex organs are near their heads. They reproduce by releasing their gametes into the water which meet and grow into a mature organism.
