Referring to the “Half-Square Triangles (HST): Two at a Time Method” instructions in the Reference section of your Quilter’s Planner, make (2) HSTs. Press toward the darker fabric. Leave (1) untrimmed and trim (1) to 2 1/2″ square.
Referring to the “Half-Square Triangles (HST): Two at a Time Method” instructions in the Reference section of your Quilter’s Planner, make (2) HSTs. Press toward the darker fabric. Leave (1) untrimmed and trim (1) to 2 1/2″ square.

Repeat the same HST Two at a Time Method using a 3 1/2″ square under an untrimmed HST. Press seam open. Trim to 2 1/2″ square.
Repeat the same HST Two at a Time Method using a 3 1/2″ square under an untrimmed HST. Press seam open. Trim to 2 1/2″ square.
Repeat the same HST Two at a Time Method using a 3 1/2″ square under an untrimmed HST. Press seam open. Trim to 2 1/2″ square.
Repeat the same HST Two at a Time Method using a 3 1/2″ square under an untrimmed HST. Press seam open. Trim to 2 1/2″ square.
Nesting seams, Repeat the same HST Two at a Time Method using the remaining untrimmed HSTs to create an hourglass block. Press seam open. Trim to 2 1/2″ square.
Using a 1/4″ seam allowance, sew blocks into an upper row. Press toward the right hand block. Row should measure 2 1/2″ x 6 1/2″.
Using a 1/4″ seam allowance, sew blocks into a middle row. Press toward the left hand block. Row should measure 2 1/2″ x 6 1/2″.
Using a 1/4″ seam allowance, sew blocks into a lower row. Press toward the right hand block. Row should measure 2 1/2″ x 6 1/2″.
Nesting seams, sew rows together with a 1/4″ seam. Press seams open.
The finished Card Trick Block should measure 6 1/2″ square.
