Pinawella Elephant Orphanage, Sri Lanka

Pinawella Elephant Orphanage is a Government-run sanctuary where young and old elephants are given safe haven in natural surroundings. Abandoned or injured baby elephants are reared here and are trained to eventually become working animals. Every day they are taken down to the river for a bath, some playtime and to chill out.
