Camp Lo Remix from back in the day...meaning  '06-ish.  I think anybody who listens to something they created a while back wishes they would've done some things a little different.  But this was pretty fresh for it's time and still sounded pretty good to me when it crept it's way into my shuffle just the other day.  Had some space here so thought I'd share for those who've never heard it.

Here's a little diddy I cooked up for the latest 420 Remix Project.  420 was a collaboration between producer Caliph-Now and super MC's Slim DSM and the late great Viro The Virus (RIP).  This latest collection of tracks is part of an ongoing annual remix release intended to celebrate the life of friend / great MC Viro The Virus, and to keep his voice alive. Throwback to something I cooked up in 2007 but never finished due to a hard drive failure that lost most of my original session.  I was never really happy with the last mix I had of this and couldn't do much to fix it without the original session, so I never put it out there.  I eq'd it a little bit to try and fix the main mix problem but I'm no mastering engineer and without the multitrack I really couldn't get to the heart of the issue.  But enough boring tech talk... in honor of Janet's bday yesterday I hope you guys enjoy this unearthed throwback.

What started off as a joke mix somehow became way too enjoyable not to share.  Guilty pleasures, yacht rock, and all the schmaltz you can swallow!  I like to call these songs Supermarket Sweepers or Elevator Jumpoffs - since those are the 2 places you're most likely to hear this kind of crap.  This is the type of music that makes you roll up your windows at the traffic light, and could instantly destroy that street cred you've been working so hard to attain.
