Senator Jeremy Cooney hosting a Senior Resource Fair at the Greece Ridge Mall

Health and wellness are important for everyone, especially as you get older, and to help promote that is the upcoming Senior Resource Fair.

This fair will include free services like health screenings and advice from financial and nutritional experts.

It's being hosted by Senator Jeremy Cooney along with some local partners like Lifespan, Monroe County Department of Public Health, and Rochester Reigonal Health to name a few.

He got to join us on Good Day Rochester along with President and CEO of Lifespan of Greater Rochester Ann Marie Cook to tell us all about what this resource fair has to offer.

"Our Senior Resource Fair will provide a one-stop shop for older adults in Monroe County." said Senator Cooney. "I'm so pleased to host this event with partners from across our community to deliver holistic resources and take care of the generation that helped raise me."

We also got to hear about what exactly Lifespan does as a company.

Lifespan helps older adults and family caregivers access resources, provide information guidance and over 30 services to help support them in the community."

Finally, we got to hear the reason behind this event.

"This is all about bringing people together in one location to make it easier. What breaks my heart is that we have so many wonderful organizations in town who are serving our community, but a lot of times, our senior community doesn't know they exist or how to contact them. So we want to connect the dots, bring people together, it's all completely free, and we have over 30 different groups across Monroe County coming together at the Greece Ridge Mall."

This fair will happen Tuesday, April 30th from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Greece Ridge Mall.
