About This File

Thanks to Alex_Delgado for permission to update his XP11 F-117 nighthawk, which its self was an update of the fantastic work of "Active", for XP9.

To bring this to Xplane 12, required data ref changes for the gear doors to work, along with changes to get the bomb doors to work (using the flaps command ! as Active intended)

The hood opens with the speedbrake command, as before, so you may have realized there's no flaps or speedbrake on this aircraft.

I added an NML to the paintwork, while having to remove the Lit.

The flight model is much more stable now (art stab can legitimately be used here) with a take off speed of 180kts (slightly higher than the 165 target) but a landing speed of 160kts (slower than the real 180 haha).

I made it cold n dark compatible, with added fuel and generator switches on the right panel.

I added a nice red interior night light, and stronger landing lights too.

Thanks to Fabrice Kauffmann for his airfoils used on this aircraft, which improved control.

Enjoy.

I have tried the F117 in the past, and in my humble opinion, it was really NOT FUN to fly, very unstable.

This rework is really a game changer. Sooo smooth, with a much easier handling; it's a pleasure to fly it.

I also noticed than modeling and liveries were greatly improved. It is also fun to play with the cockpit / bomb bays with the flaps / airbrakes levers.

It is always a difficult task to review a plane when you're not familiar with Blender and planemaker, and all what it involves. I have tried before, so I understand how many hours were spend on this bird. Of course, I could say that the 3D cockpit could use a few improvements, but this is so much work....

Once again, Alpeggio's talent is to be honoured. I specially appreciate making this freeware for our community.

Thanks Alpeggio, keep up the good work.

Excellent modeling, cockpit, and liveries. Very nice lighting and animations.

Terrible physics that make it almost unflyable, which is really unfortunate imo. If only if flew properly, than maybe id give it a chance. Responds WAY to quickly to pitch and roll. Its like theres no directional physics in the plane whatsoever.

4 stars for right now, at least until the plane feels more stable. Otherwise, really nice looking plane. Good eyecandy for now.

Thanks for your review,

As for flight control, please tell me you don't fly with mouse.
