You guys with your Alliance War memes… bringing up so many memories for me.
You see all the stories on here of close wars… the final battles… I have been in so many of those experiences! If someone were to ask me, “what was your most exciting Alliance War moment?” Impossible to pick just one.
- One of my wars, my alliance won by a less than 5 point margin.
- Another war, my alliance lost by about 12 points
- One war, my alliance was about 40-50 points ahead, but after the war was supposed to have already ended, an opponent was still “in battle” against one of our teams… oddly enough, the opponent team that was attacking us switched from showing as “online” (green dot) to “offline” (red dot) in the midst of the battle… 5 minutes went by, then 10 minutes… eventually, the battle ended. Opponent scored 0 points on their last attack.
- Another war… it was about the last hour. My alliance was down about 300 points, but we still had a number of flags. There were only a few enemy teams left on the board to kill for a reset. I sent some of my lower mates after the weakest remaining team, while I took a couple shots at the strongest teams. Got the reset, and used our remaining flags to wipe out a few more of their lowest teams. In hour 23 of the war… went from being 300 points behind to being over 300 points ahead. 10 minutes left in the war. Suddenly half of our opponents are online, they still had a few flags left. See a couple of them put reservations on our remaining defense teams. Rest of my alliance was getting nervous. “OMG they’re all online and they’re getting ready to attack us again! Just when we thought we had won for sure!” I just sat back and laughed.
“Don’t worry, guys. We won,” I chuckled.
“But how can you possibly know that? They still have flags! And they’re getting ready to attack us!”
“I already did the maths. Even if they one shot both of those defense teams… we still won.”
… and when you start out with a good board, but the replacement tiles are all off-color and you lose miserably…
