UAZ, a Russian automobile manufacturing major, will begin supplying vehicles to Ghana in the near future, the company told Sputnik Africa.This step was taken after UAZ struck a deal with a delegation from the West African Jospong Group of Companies during a visit to the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant from October 11-13.The Russian manufacturer noted that during the visit, the guests were allowed to learn in detail about the production process.The Russian vehicle manufacturer specified that the first test batch of UAZ pickups is scheduled to be delivered to customers by the end of the year.During the Second Russia-Africa Summit held in St. Petersburg in late July, Awuku-Boateng told Sputnik that a Ghanaian company had agreed that UAZ would assemble some car components in four of the country's regions.

This step was taken after UAZ struck a deal with a delegation from the West African Jospong Group of Companies during a visit to the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant from October 11-13.
The Russian manufacturer noted that during the visit, the guests were allowed to learn in detail about the production process.
"During the visit to the plant, the partners had an opportunity to get acquainted with the production process in detail and held a series of negotiations on cooperation [...] The meetings resulted in the conclusion of a framework contract for the supply of vehicles of a new model series," UAZ press-service said.
The Russian vehicle manufacturer specified that the first test batch of UAZ pickups is scheduled to be delivered to customers by the end of the year.
"Later, the parties will return to the issue of organizing an assembly plant on the territory of the Republic [of Ghana], which is currently being worked out," the company stated.
