Pepperoni Calzones

Ingredients

  • 1 (15-oz) pkg already-rolled-out pizza dough (or use 1 [13.8-oz] can refrigerated pizza dough
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • ½ (24-oz) jar pasta sauce
  • ½ tsp Italian seasoning
  • ¾ cup shredded Parmesan cheese
  • ½ (6-oz) pkg pepperoni
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 Tbsp butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Unroll dough on a lightly floured surface. Cut dough into 2 portions. Roll out each portion into a large round.
  2. Brush each with oil; smear with a thin layer of pasta sauce. Sprinkle with Italian seasoning and Parmesan.
  3. Top each with pepperoni and mozzarella cheese, leaving a 1-inch border on all sides; fold over. Use a little water on your fingers to seal each calzone. Crimp edges to seal.
  4. Place calzones on a lightly greased or parchment paper-lined baking sheet. Cut 1-inch slits in the top of each roll at 2-inch intervals. Brush tops with butter.
  5. Bake 30 to 40 minutes or until golden brown; let stand 10 minutes before slicing.
  6. Heat remaining pasta sauce in a small bowl in microwave 1 to 2 minutes or until thoroughly heated; serve for dipping.

  • ¼ lb seedless red grapes
