SKODA

The main symbol of the Škoda logo, since 1926, was a symbolic image of the “head of an Indian with feathers,” which later became a “winged arrow”. In both cases, this is a symbol of success in competition, credibility and, undoubtedly, speed.

Skoda was founded in 1895 by Vaclav Laurin and Vaclav Klement as a bicycle and then motorcycle maker. The first car was produced in 1905 and became a best-seller in Czechoslovakia, carrying the brand L & K which was named after its founders. The merger with Skoda Company in 1925 changed its name to Skoda.

Skoda had faced many difficulties and was eventually sold to Volkwagen group in 1991 following the collapse of Berlin Wall. The German giant helped it revising the Favorit into Felica, then built a modern plant to assemble the new-generation Skoda developed fully under Volkswagen, i.e. Octavia, Fabia and Superb. The cars were built to its high-quality standards, and bargain pricing was enabled. It gained its credibility in Western European Market in few years time.

The Skoda logo went into several evolutions like other car logos. These changes did not only show dynamism in company logo but also for its cars that bear its badge. The black and green car logo, which was used from 1994, gives the ŠKODA brand a greater degree of originality – black symbolizes the hundred-year tradition, green signalizes environmental production. The Skoda car logo showcased some modern changes in the color, chrome and more precise look. With this modern design, Skoda logo proves its versatility for years unlike other car logos. It emerges and continues to compete with other known car logos.
